In our modern lifestyle, more and more sedentary, we need more than ever to find ways to evacuate the stress and relaxe. Going in nature is a way, doing a power nap is an other, but most of all moving and doing physical exercise has become essential.
Canopée is a hammock kit - easy to instal - for a quick or long relaxation time. Its differenciation lies on the balancing which improve the relaxation mood (based on studies) and it requires only one attach point, for an indoor or outdoor use.
What does CANOPÉE aim to answer ?
This product is the ending result of my thesis project.
The research are based on scientific articles, survey and field observation.

The need of stretching and physical compression/extension in relaxation should not be under estimated. Exercices of Pilates and Yoga teach us in different way how to reconnect with our bodies, gain back in energy and flexibility.
By adding two straps, we can explore exercises inspired by the existing discipline aerial yoga & Omni Gym Flying Fitness.

DESIGN PROCESS
After conducting researches on the topics of design in movements, mental breaks, social interaction, and Biophilia, I have set up a map of the potential field of intervention and concepts.

The hammock was a good option for synthesising a lot of ideas. A way to imagine what the hammock could be about was to use the AI and understand the atmosphere it would express.

Over 3 versions have been created
And 6 fitting test lauched in different context (Office garden, climbing gym, home garden, parc) and with various people profile (height, weight, age, interest)
- Fitting test -
The last fitting test was in the highline community and Canopée have been used for napping or reading during the waiting time between runs.

Improvement of the installation system & redesign of some parts
